I’m trying to ID this Duck I think it’s a Mandarin Male in what they call Eclipse Plumage? Can any of you lovely people confirm or set me on the right path or pond better yet?
Seen in Arundel by the stream leading to the pond
Thank you either way & happy week-end! xx
“Mandarin ducks in Britain are the descendants of captive-bred ducks which escaped or were deliberately released. Mandarins are one of the few duck species which are not hunted for food – apparently they taste really bad!”… more
A very helpful survival quality think we Duck Lover!
I wish more Ducks & Geese tasted bad to the human palate.
“All the world’s a stage, And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages.”
~ William Shakespeare
“A falling star fell from your heart and landed in my eyes. I screamed aloud, as it tore through them, and now it’s left me blind.
The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out. You left me in the dark. No dawn, no day, I’m always in this twilight. In the shadow of your heart.
And in the dark, I can hear your heartbeat. I tried to find the sound. But then it stopped, and I was in the darkness, So darkness I became.
I took the stars from my eyes, and then I made a map. And knew that somehow I could find my way back. Then I heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too. So I stayed in the darkness with you.”
