A stop on the way from the airport despite the Captains gloom weather report the light & day was amazing … my first morning in England.

Babe its cold ..

A few (lovely) snow flurries yesterday, which amounted to nothing but a threadbare coat of snow, back to the deep freeze now, it’s a frosty 19 º ƒ at the moment and the northerly windows never saw a thaw…
I’m contemplating a nice a steamy latte or cappuccino, albeit I am a tea girl, coffee is a treat I occasionally savour, that and the memory of walks and cups….

Rainy & Monday ~ !

Tis raining as if tis spring,
Boo babe, I wish it were snow, I can hear them rejoice as if I were there…
Moan when it snows, it’s not fair, as I do, boo hoo it’s raining in January!
In January, snow can be kinder from my point of view, much lovelier.. ‘~])

“Ladies in beauty spas…
their tresses lathered weekly by others,
sit, watch the morph of frizz in mirrors ironed to smoothness,
we be soaked through to the medulla,
hairstyling ruined..
~ in rain ~
snow is kinder, I say to you,
those eager to lay aside the shovels,
Oo but behold the newly laid ice rinks
when the temperature plunges like necklines:
they’ll halt to rejoice the rain,
when the skating starts..
Uninspired by snow,
till we slip on the ice,
It’s January you know,
Oh too bad it’s raining,
Snow would be nice!”

{ thankfully It didn’t get icy, did it flood a basement or two, yes.
Our hill lost power, me, I am the quintessential lover of candles,
I own one or two, and the power came back before the UPS ran out.. a wee bit disappointed }

Raining

“Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts.
There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature — the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.”

Rachel Carson

I miss you no matter the weather…

My blue Monday

“anyone lived in a pretty how town
(with up so floating many bells down)
spring summer autumn winter
he sang his didn’t he danced his did

Women and men (both little and small)
cared for anyone not at all
they sowed their isn’t they reaped their same
sun moon stars rain

children guessed(but only a few
and down they forgot as up they grew
autumn winter spring summer)
that noone loved him more by more

when by now and tree by leaf
she laughed his joy she cried his grief
bird by snow and stir by still
anyone’s any was all to her

someones married their everyones
laughed their cryings and did their dance
(sleep wake hope and then)they
said their nevers they slept their dream

stars rain sun moon
(and only the snow can begin to explain
how children are apt to forget to remember
with up so floating many bells down)

one day anyone died i guess
(and noone stooped to kiss his face)
busy folk buried them side by side
little by little and was by was

all by all and deep by deep
and more by more they dream their sleep
noone and anyone earth by april
wish by spirit and if by yes.

Women and men (both dong and ding)
summer autumn winter spring
reaped their sowing and went their came
sun moon stars rain”
